Ok. I've just installed lilypond and see that the .info files do
somehow eventually end up in /usr/share/info. I'm not sure why the
packaging works that way but as long as the files are in the correct
location, everything is fine.

If you need to put *just* images in this directory, I guess that's all
right. It is setting an unusual precedent however. Why wouldn't the
files be in some other directory?
