Why does cygwin require patches, indeed...

To patch up the holes where it burst open when a hippo sat on it?
As long as we're afloat in the water and don't have to protect the
internals from outside pressure, many people won't mind the holes...

Yes, those hippo floats are a nuisance. They should be banned from all the amusement parks, especially Disney... Let them use real hippos.
