Let the sshds use different ports, for instance 22 and 2022.

And if that doesn't work we'll certainly work non-stop, around the clock to make sure that this crucial functionality is implemented.

Maybe we need a new mailing list to deal with this issue.

No, actually, I want 1.5, 1.7, and B20 to all work on the same machine at the same time. Is that too much to ask?

Don't forget 1.3. For complete compatibility they all need to work .... in the same way.
