Good day.I'm trying to install tmux in cygwin (running under windows 8 if it is important) from this guidance: http://java.ociweb.com/mark/programming/tmuxInCygwin.html
I've tried to install libevent from the sources, but cannot configure it: user@host ~/src/libevent-2.0.21-stable $ ./configure --prefix=/usr checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin//install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... /usr/bin//mkdir -p checking for gawk... gawk checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes checking build system type... x86_64-unknown-cygwin checking host system type... x86_64-unknown-cygwin checking for gcc... gcc checking whether the C compiler works... no configure: error: in `/home/user/src/libevent-2.0.21-stable': configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables See `config.log' for more details Part of config.log Thread model: posix gcc version 4.8.2 (GCC) configure:3490: $? = 0 configure:3479: gcc -V >&5 gcc: error: unrecognized command line option '-V' gcc: fatal error: no input files compilation terminated. configure:3490: $? = 1 configure:3479: gcc -qversion >&5 gcc: error: unrecognized command line option '-qversion' gcc: fatal error: no input files compilation terminated. configure:3490: $? = 1 configure:3510: checking whether the C compiler works configure:3532: gcc conftest.c >&5 configure:3536: $? = 1 configure:3574: result: no configure: failed program was: | /* confdefs.h */ | #define PACKAGE_NAME "" | #define PACKAGE_TARNAME "" | #define PACKAGE_VERSION "" | #define PACKAGE_STRING "" | #define PACKAGE_BUGREPORT "" | #define PACKAGE_URL "" | #define PACKAGE "libevent" | #define VERSION "2.0.21-stable" | #define NUMERIC_VERSION 0x02001500 | /* end confdefs.h. */ | | int | main () | { | | ; | return 0; | } configure:3579: error: in `/home/user/src/libevent-2.0.21-stable': configure:3581: error: C compiler cannot create executables See `config.log' for more details Is this all about wrong -V option of gcc? How to fix that? config.log and cygcheck.out are attached -- Best regards, dmitry malikov !
